I am an Associate with four years plus experience of advising companies and employees in respect of daily employment issues that arise.  I can prepare contracts of employment and employee handbooks together with policies and procedures relating to all employment matters, this includes telephone and/or email advice.

Our clients range from small owner-managed businesses to plcs covering all sectors of commerce and industry. We work closely with our clients to build long term relationships, thereby, enabling us to advise them through external and internal changes affecting their business.

By taking a pro-active approach to risk management: we can minimise the chance of expensive costs for the employer such as defending a tribunal claim, or recruiting and training a replacement employee. Whilst it is not possible to totally eliminate the risk of a disgruntled employee, there are a number of ways to reduce the likelihood of the risk arising.

Having the correct contracts and procedures in place from the start provides a solid platform– then everyone knows where they stand and what the respective rights and obligations are. It is vital however, that this infrastructure is reviewed and updated constantly and that line managers understand how to implement procedures. We can prepare the contracts and procedures and offer an annual review to our clients as well as hands on training for managers.

A happy workforce makes for a productive workforce – the keys to successful employee relations are communication, trust and confidence. Getting this right from the start can help avoid rising tensions and encourage openness between managers and employees. In the real world disputes can and do arise and an essential risk management tool for businesses is direct access to advice on how to deal with the problem at an early stage – a central part of our service to clients.

When we are called upon to help resolve a dispute, we always seek to avoid litigation Taking a practical, direct and commercial approach to negotiating, we aim to minimise the costs to the client and disruption to the business by reaching a speedy resolution.

We are keen advocates of all forms of alternative dispute resolution, in particular mediation and arbitration, and will seek to find the most appropriate method in every case.

We provide advice and assistance on all aspects of the employment relationship, from its commencement to its termination and beyond.

Our services include:

  • Advice on the HR needs of the business
